Dedicated to producing top level performances of the world's greatest music, the Handel Society is celebrating more than 60 years of performance excellence. We are so pleased to announce an exciting new line-up of Baroque Classics for our May 3rd, 2025 Spring Concert.
We begin with the great masterpiece "Vivaldi's Gloria"; a rousing, inspirational tribute to the Italian composer's genius. Then it's on to George Handel's Chandos Anthem #9, a quick, lively and challenging piece requiring vocal gymnastics on the part of the choir. The concert is rounded out with several, beautifully intricate pre-baroque pieces, including Palestrina's "Sicut Cervus" and Victoria's "O Magnum Mysterium".
There is simply no better opportunity anywhere else in the Greater Vancouver region to enjoy this masterpieces "up close and personal" in an intimate setting with a full professional orchestra and accomplished chorale.
For 63 years, the Handel Society of Music has performed the world's greatest choral compositions in White Rock, Surrey, Langley and throughout the Fraser Valley. Under the leadership of our new artistic director Ethan Liang the members of the choir and orchestra passionately present the world's finest classic choral literature. If, as a singer, you've ever dreamed of performing with a full professional orchestra...this is your chance.
