Ethan Liang is a pianist, fortepianist, and harpsichordist.
Before moving to Montreal to pursue his undergraduate and graduate degrees at McGill University, Ethan studied with the renowned pianist Jane Hays privately while attending Kwantlen University in Langley, BC. While pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at McGill University, Ethan studied piano and fortepianos with Tom Begin and Harpsichord with Hank Knox. He also took continuo classes with Hank Knox and became fluent in figured bass and improvisation on keyboard instruments. Ethan has a wide range of experience with chamber ensembles and choral groups, as well as baroque orchestras on both piano and harpsichord.
Ethan is also a piano rebuilder and piano technician. He has serviced and rebuilt many fine European and American pianos including such classics as Steinway, Baldwin, and Chickering.
Ethan is equally devoted to music education. He completed his B.Ed degree in music and has taught music and directed bands in several private schools including Bodewell High School and Cascade Christian School. He is currently a music and classroom teacher in Langley School District, British Columbia, Canada.
